Similarly, we all share common passions about our profession. Personally speaking, I would like to teach myself how to be passionate about slowing down!

I am passionate about helping students to gain self confidence through movement. I am passionate about letting students know that they don't have to be perfect at what they do but they must always "try". I am passionate about running, skiing and traveling. I am passionate about family. I am most passionate about Rutgers, Giants and Yankees. It's not only about the "game" but it is about getting together with family and friends.

I am passionate about my job. I love what I do and it is because I get to come to school everyday and guide children in the right direction. I am the one that they are depending on to get them through their educational years, which will allow them to have the future of the choice. I am passionate about my family. I am dedicated to helping them make decisions that will hopefully lead them to success. I am passionate about being organized and even though it is an obsession I can’t imagine my life any other way. Finally, I am passionate about my brother and the battle he is fighting. I pray everyday that he will find the strength to keep fighting and as long he fights, I will be there for him every step of the way. HE ROCKS!!!

Thank you Madlen, for your kind words and your well wishes for my brother. He will continue to inspire me and I hope he always knows it. On a better note, I wish you luck on this new journey that you have chosen for yourself. It will definitely be a challenge yet rewarding once you get to where you are going. All the best.

I love what you said about wanting the students to have the future of their CHOICE...nothing is decided for them yet and their futures should be limitless for them. Your brother is always in my prayers xoxo

I am passionate about instilling into my students the same confidence that my parents instilled in me, that I am intelligent individual. I am also passionate about not only teaching my students the lessons they need to learn to be strong readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists and historians but also how to be good people with kindness, understanding, and manners. It is my goal everyday to have fun in the classroom with my "family" and it's important to me that my students see each other as family (O'hana as we say in my room) for the year that we are together and beyond. I am passionate about getting through every day hoping the next one will be better and not worse. I have a passion to be strong for my family so that I can be a good mom to my sons (even though I can't always be there for them in the way I want to be) and a strong passion to make others happy and put a smile on people's faces because that makes me happy. I also have a passion for tennis & running (when I can), coke slurpees (they always make a bad day better), and vacationing because it gives me special times with my family.

Confidence is such an important characteristic to instill whether it be personal or academic... It's great that is something you are passionate about. I also love how you mentioned about the coke slurpees! Lol, it reminds me of my passion for Ben and Jerry's and Nutella ;)

Reading through the posts, there are many similar passions I have. I have seen my passions change with each new journey in my life, grow, and evolve. As a teacher I am passionate about developing the whole child not just in academics but also as a person. I live for those "Aha" moments just as I know many of you do too. As a mom I'm passionate about my children and trying to be the best mom I can be for them, being present and in the moment with them while they still let me be. As a wife, I'm passionate about being a helper, support, and partner in life to my husband. As a future administrator and person in general, I am passionate about seeing others succeed, growing in their profession, being a support to them, listening to their needs and continuing to learn and grow as a leader. I am passionate about music and art. Even through those passions, I try and use them to help others see and feel the best version of their self. :)

I loved reading all your comments. It is interesting to see how many of our passions are the same! As a literacy coach, I want everyone to be passionate about reading and writing! As an educator, I am passionate about making a difference in the lives of the students and colleagues I meet and work with on a daily basis. I believe in lifelong learning and PD is another one of my passions! My personal passion begins at home with my family and friends. I am passionate about health and wellness and living life with a "glass is half full" attitude. Thanks for sharing and I am looking forward to taking my new journey with all of you!

I love hearing about the different types of passions my colleagues have! As time has passed over my 16 year teaching career, I find that my passions have changed perhaps even evolved as I have entered different phases of my life and now with my career.

My passion is in teaching our littlest learners how to learn. Showing them how they can overcome obstacles that might be standing in there way and make progress in their educational journey.

Often I think about my passions in life, whether they be personal or professional. I think back to all the things I did while growing up and how those experiences have molded me into the person I am today. Personally, I am passionate about making people laugh, and healing through laughter. Being able to share a smile with others or making them chuckle for a second brings me great joy. I am also passionate about nature and animals! I really love spending time outdoors hiking, camping or just stargazing at the nights sky. These are all things I shared with my loving family. Professionally, I am passionate about teaching my students to be independent thinkers and learners. When kids have the skills and strategies to be problem solvers, they take greater risks and try new things. They then are able to discover their own strengths and passions, while helping themselves and others to grow.
